My Cath Kidston x Disney Haul

Well what a shambles the release of the new Mickey and Minnie collection was on the Cath Kidston website last night.  Surely they must know how crazy us Disney geeks get over the new collaborations!  Their website just couldn't cope with the sheer volume of customers it attracted. I know so many ladies were unlucky in their bid to make a purchase, but I for one am not complaining.  Although it took me over an hour for the website to let me in, I did manage to purchase everything I wanted from the new collection, minus one dress. But that was due to the extortionate price of it which I couldn't justify spending.

I made three separate transactions.  Because each one was over £25, I didn't have to pay any postage which was a bonus.  My first transaction was for the Minnie mews dress which was the item I wanted the most. Then I went back in again and ordered the backpack,  brooch and key ring.  And the last transaction was for the kids bits which I have put away for Amelia's birthday.  I got her the Minnie dress, handbag, coin purse and T-shirt, and also a laptop case for me.  I have been looking for one for a while as we plan on taking a small laptop to Florida with us this October so I can back up all my photos.  This definitely fit the bill!

UPDATE 8/12/16:
All of my purchases have arrived and are just beautiful!  The bag is a lovely quality and will be fab in the theme parks next October and the dress fits perfectly.  I am so pleased with it.  I haven't opened Amelia's things yet as she was home when they arrived so I quickly hid them away until her birthday next April.  But they look lovely.

I have heard various rumours on Instagram that the next collaboration could be either 101 Dalmatians or Tinkerbell. I'm not too keen on 101 Dalmatians, but I can see Peter Pan/Tink flying over Cath's London town houses.  That would be just amazing.  Fingers crossed.  Only time will tell.

Disney X Cath Kidston Collaboration

So it was announced a few weeks ago that Disney and Cath Kidston have started a collaboration together which are to be released in two stages later this year; Winnie the Pooh on 26th September, and Mickey Mouse in December.  This week however we were given a little insight into a few of the things that will be available. Is anyone else as excited by this as me?

I definitely have my eye on the Winnie the Pooh dress. If that wasn't all gorgeous enough, a few sneak peeks were posted all over Instagram a few days ago of a few of the things we can expect from the December release.  These are the ones i'm really looking forward to.  Especially the dress in the middle....

I'm so excited!

Disney Primark Haul

I love a bargain, and over the past few months I have been lucky enough to find some real gems in my local Primark for our trip to Disney World next year, so I thought I would share them here.  There's some really good bargains to be found.  Why pay four times the price in the parks when you can get similar items for a fraction of the cost?

On my first trip back in May I found the umbrella that I had been searching for since Christmas.  The Mickeys turn red when they get wet which is pretty cool.
I also bought a Hakuna Matata top, a Mickey and Minnie scarf, Ariel and Simba flip Flops, Ariel coin purse and a cute little pencil case which will be going in my Daughter's backpack for the flight.

The Moleskine notebook pictured below obviously wasn't from Primark, but the notepad, pencil case and erasers were.  When I was in there this week, they had actually been reduced to half price!

My Husband also bought me this cute Minnie mouse-head shaped bag, Alice scarf, and Mickey Make-up bag which will come in very handy on holiday. I was worried about the size of the mouse-head bag, and sure, you won't fit a whole park day's worth of things in it, but you can easily fit a purse in if you're just out for the fireworks one evening.

I also picked up some tops, and an Alice pyjama top.  I have the bottoms also (see below). I'm not big on Star Wars (I've never seen any of the films), but as Hollywood Studios is all about Star Wars these days, I thought I'd better get this top.  Plus it was only £4.

A few weeks ago I was in Milton Keynes where they have a HUGE Primark, so I popped in and picked up this top which I will wear on travel day!

This week I was in Primark again and picked up a Simba bag (£12) which I'm going to use as my hand luggage on the flight as It's very roomy. I should be able to fit my laptop, camera, magazines, etc in there.  I also got a Minnie rucksack which will be my park bag.  It had £10 on the tag but was only £5 at the checkout!  Bargain! Lastly, I got my Daughter a little set of exercise books so she can write about the things we do each day of our holiday. The jute bag is from Emma Bridgewater.  I couldn't resist it since we're staying at Animal Kingdom lodge!

Thank you for reading! I'll keep you posted if I find anything else! xx

Disney Reveal Bags for Kids

I thought I would share with you a few ideas I have for the kids reveal bags for our trip to Disney World next October.

I bought Amelia this cute back pack from Disney Store.I fell in love with it when I saw it and I know she will love it too.

It led me on to thinking about some of the other things I could put into the bag to reveal where we are going. Aside from the usual magazines, pens and pencils, etc, I have bought a few of the things below, and have added the rest to a private Amazon wish list to remind me to buy them before we go.

1. Minnie sunglasses from Disney Store.  In the sale at £4.87
2. Autograph Book and pen from Disney Store. £5.95
3. Ariel magic face cloth from Tesco.com £2.00
4. Birnbaum's 2016 Walt Disney World For Kids, Amazon, £6.99
5.Nikon Coolpix S33, Various retailers. Around £85
6.Children's Travel Activity Book and Journal - My Trip to Disney World.  Amazon, £6.99
7. Kids princess Elastoplast.  Tesco, £2.00
8. Minnie Battery powered Toothbrush with timer, Disney Store, £7.95
9.Fox's Frozen Ice Whirl biscuits. Tesco, £1.49
10 Mickey Mouse Clubhouse matching pairs game (snap).  Disney Store in the sale at £1.49

Other things I may put in are Disney Frozen shampoo and conditioner (Tesco), activity books, sticker books, a new DS game, etc.

My Son is harder to buy things for as he's getting to that age now where he may think he's too old for things like this. He'll be 17, almost 18, on our next trip. But I feel like if my youngest has a reveal bag, then he should too, so I have come up with a few things.  I think for the majority of the flight, he'll be playing on his tablet or watching movies, but with the exception of the Kingdom Keepers books and monopoly card game, these things will also come in useful while we're in the parks.

1. Darth Vader Bag by Loungefly. Amazon, £35
2. Nikon Coolpix S33 waterproof camera, Amazon, around £85
3.Limited edition Mickey Moleskine ruled notebook, Amazon, £11.39
4. Hidden Mickeys of Walt Disney World (paperback) Amazon,  £11.99
5. Mickey phone case (various retailers).  This one is from Amazon, £29.99
6. Shuffle Monopoly Deal Disney card game.  Amazon, £6.99
7.The Kingdom Keepers books.  Available from Amazon from £6.37
8 Sunglasses.  These ones were found on Amazon for £10 (RRP £64) but had mixed reviews.

I have also bought him a Disney T-shirt to put in the bag which was only £7.90 from Uniqlo.

If you have any more ideas that I could incorporate, please comment below!

Me in a nutshell

I have had several blogs over the years and have never managed to stick to them. I tended to have a different blog for each area of my life.  I'm not sure why.  Even on Instagram I have four different accounts; one for general instagramming - family, my home, and my love of Emma Bridgewater and Cath Kidston.  One for all things Disney (my biggest passion), another account for my Slimming World journey and another for my business.  Although part of me likes separating them, it's hard work keeping up with so many accounts, so I decided to create a blog for everything.  My whole little life in a nutshell. Aimie's Daydreams.

So here's a little insight into my daydreams.  My name is Aimie; tea drinker, biscuit dunker, Disney planner, wife, mother, girl boss, and Imagineer.  I live in Northamptonshire, UK with my husband of seven years, and our children, Oliver, 16 and Amelia, 6. We live in a three bedroom Edwardian terraced house with our dog, Jacob and our cat, Luna.  We have lived in our house for just under a year, and it really is my dream home. It has a big garden which is great as I love gardening, and between my Dad (who is a painter and decorator) and I, we have decorated it just how I envisioned in my head. I'm very lucky that my husband is easy going and doesn't care for interior design and therefore doesn't mind how I decorated it, so I went full on with the floral wallpapers, bedding and cushions! He has had a few digs about the lack of 'manly' mugs to drink his coffee from in the mornings, and doesn't appreciate my Cath Kidston ones but other than that, he's happy! And I have bought him some more manly mugs to compensate!

One of the pieces of furniture I bought before we moved was my welsh dresser which was a fab eBay find. My Dad painted it for me and I have had fun over the past year filling it with beautiful Emma Bridgewater pottery.  My favourite pattern is Rose and Bee.

In 2012 I started up my own business, Little Sugar Plums, where I design and make CE certified designer dolls, children's clothing, accessories and pretty things.I am so grateful that it has become so successful. It certainly keeps me very busy and helps me provide for my family.

My biggest passion is Disney.  I love nothing better than planning a Disney holiday.  From choosing where we are going to eat, the rides we will go on and what we will do each day and then writing travel reports on our return. We recently booked our fourth trip to Disney World and will be jetting off in October next year. This upcoming trip will be our second time staying onsite. We stayed at Old Key West on our last trip in 2014, and this time we will be staying at my dream resort; Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge. I am very excited!  We are keeping it a secret from our two children and plan on telling them the day we leave for the airport. Stay tuned for lots of updates on our 2017 trip!

And that's me in a nutshell really.
